JANUARY FUN FACTS

08 Jan 2020       ILC Batalha

Some say that January is boring and Monday-like, but is it?

January can be seen as a new beginning and an opportunity to start fresh. Well, it literally is since it's the first month of the year...and the second month of winter!

We're used to considering January the coldest month of the year but this only happens in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, January is a summer month equivalent of July! It's crazy to think that, right?

But wait there's more: The Saxons used to call this month "The wolf month" because hungry wolves would come into their towns searching for food this time of year. On more modern times, January is considered "National clean up your computer month".

Don't forget that on January 3rd, the earth will be at the point in its orbit where it is closest to the sun and on January 20th, you'll be able to see a total eclipse of the moon!

In other words, we hope you enjoy the first month of 2020 as much as you can!
