We are used to celebrating Valentine's day with chocolates and cards in order to celebrate our love for someone else.Even thought most people connect this day with romantic love, there are some countries and cultures that connect this special day with the advent of spring!
While the custom of sending cards, flowers, chocolates and other girfts originated in the UK, Valentine's day still remains connected with some regional traditions in England. For example, there is a town called Norfolk where a character called Jack knowcks on people's doors, leaving sweets and presents for children.
In other countries like Slovenia, the saint of Spring is celebrated with lots of flowers and traditional songs!
